Whether you are considering a used EV, preparing to sell one or checking the vehicle you already own, a battery health assessment gives you more information to work with. Our new service includes a Generational battery health certificate and an explanation of the available results.
Why check an electric vehicle’s battery?
A dashboard showing 100% charge does not mean the battery has retained 100% of its original capacity. Charge level tells you how full the battery is now; battery State of Health (SoH) describes its usable capacity compared with when it was new.
Age and mileage are useful background information, but they do not tell the whole story. Checking the battery can help you:
- Buy with better information: review the battery’s assessed condition before committing to a used electric vehicle.
- Answer buyers’ questions: share a dated battery health certificate when selling your EV.

What does our Generational+ battery test involve?
We use Generational+ technology to read and analyse supported battery data through your vehicle’s diagnostic connection. The assessment focuses on the high-voltage traction battery that powers your EV, rather than its small 12V auxiliary battery.
Your certificate records the assessment at the time of testing. Depending on the vehicle and data available, the report can include battery State of Health, estimated driving range, manufacturer battery warranty information and cell-voltage balance. We confirm compatibility before booking and explain what information your vehicle supports.
Battery health is only one factor affecting range. Temperature, speed, heating use and driving style also matter. The check does not guarantee future battery life or range, and it does not include repairs or a warranty.
£99 mobile testing: we come to you
The £99 price includes a mobile visit within 10 miles of our Loughborough base, the supported battery health assessment, your certificate and an explanation of the findings.
Outside the included 10 miles, travel is charged at £1 per additional mile. Send us your postcode so we can confirm the travel charge and appointment arrangements before you book.
